~10 miles with 2200ft elevation gain
We chose a tough 10 miler today. This hike is full of classic charm of eastern sierra, filled with lakes and high passes.

It’s great overall trail, it began with switchbacks for a while but got gentle later as you pass Skelton and Barney Lakes, and then more tough switchbacks to climb the duck pass.
There was minimal shade after Barney Lake, one you go above the tree-line. Duck Lake was absolutely beautiful!

We were feeling strong enough to hike to Pika Lake, it was decent. Thunderstorms rolled in when we were chilling at the Pika Lake, so we wrapped our lunch back up and started walking back. The storm cleared mid-way, it brought some clouds which is what I loved!
