The Final Leg of Our Camino de Santiago Portuguese Costal Route Journey: Padron to Santiago de Compostela

Today was the last day of our journey on the Camino de Santiago Portuguese Costal Route and we couldn’t have been more excited. The day’s walk was 25 kilometers from Padron to Santiago de Compostela, and we were ready to reach our final destination.

As we approached Santiago de Compostela, the energy in the air was palpable. We started seeing the cathedral and city from far away and our excitement increased even more. This gem of a city is small enough to be explored on foot, yet always vibrant and lively. As we walked through the cobbled streets of its UNESCO-listed old town, we couldn’t wait to reach the cathedral.

Finally, after five days of walking, we reached the famous Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, where we met one of our friends who had to quit today’s final leg of journey due to the knee injury. We visited the cathedral and finally received our Camino Pilgrimage certificate. The feeling of accomplishment and satisfaction was overwhelming.

Our journey on the Camino de Santiago Portuguese Costal Route was a life-changing experience, full of challenges and triumphs. We are grateful for the memories we have made and the friends we have met along the way.

We woke up early in the morning to visit the cathedral one more time. It was so much fun to spend time there as there were no crowds.

We spent the next day touring to the Finistere, we had fantastic time visiting this final destination!

Accommodation: HOTEL COMPOSTELA – SANTIAGO

Until next time, Buen Camino!
