Glass Beach honestly was a bit disappointing experience. There is only a small section of the beach that contains hard-to-find pieces of glass remnants. The story behind it is interesting though.
This used to be a dumpsite, where glass, appliances, vehicles, etc got dumped in the early 19th century. Several clean up programs over the years removed large metal parts and sold them or used them to make arts.
Powerful waves of Pacific ocean broke down remaining glass into small rounded colorful glass pieces, which are found on Glass Beach. People have collected and have taken those pieces over the years and there aren’t many pieces left.
The Glass Beach itself may be disappointing, but the rugged pacific ocean never disappoints and it was just as breathtaking as always!
