Since we were already in the Yosemite Valley to witness amazing Fire Fall phenomenon, we decided to extend our stay for an extra day to get some snowshoeing done. The snowshoeing trail (7 mile round trip) to Dewey Point starts at Badger Pass Ski area.
The first mile and a half traced the Glacier Point Road, which is closed off in winter for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. There wasn’t enough snow and we felt like we could’ve gotten away with micro spikes, but there were some deep areas where snowshoes were useful.
After walking for over an hour, we were above the trees and the views of the mountains got clearer. The views of the snow-capped peaks from the Dewey Point were breathtaking!
