There is something about being in the woods that I love, I am sure some you may relate to that.
I feel fortunate to live so close to the majestic redwoods and local regional parks with endless hiking trails.
Purisima Creek is one of those preserved areas where creek runs through tall and lush coastal redwoods. Some of these trails gains elevation and you can see sweeping views of the Pacific Ocean over the trees!
This area was full of banana slugs when we visited it in December, which was a lot of fun. We did 8-mile loop at the Harkins Ridge, Crag Britton, Purisima Creek and enjoyed the trail crossing the creek with many the bridges and the steps.
This was almost 50 minutes drive from home but it was totally worth it, I easily would’ve been a regular here if we lived a bit closer.
We plan to come back here when there is heat wave in the Bay Area, so that we can cool-off at the beach after the hike!
My advise, don’t wait, visit it!
