West Shore at Lake Chabot

West Shore and Bass Cove Trail

Distance: 5 miles

Difficulty: Easy

Elevation Gain: 700 ft

Lake Chabot is so close to home.

The regional park is developed around a reservoir and there is a perfect ~10 miles of hiking trail encircling the lake, which is well-maintained. You have an ability to do either the east side or the west-side of the late if you are not up for walking the full circle. We have done the circle too but I personally like to hike the west-side due to the trail passing through this cool canopy of trees!

The park is very popular and can get crowded in summer, it’s a popular, hiking, biking, fishing and picnicking spot for the families.
