Bright Angel Point Trail, North Rim, Grand Canyon NP

08/07/20 – It’s my birthday!!

Our pandemic road trip began when we picked up our RV from Las Vegas. Rving was a surprise to the cousins. After getting over the surprise element, and stocking up plenty of groceries for the next few days, we headed to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon National Park for the sunset views.

Given we had a short amount of time to spend in the park, we decided to hike a short loop trail leading to the Bright Angel Point.

It’s a short trail with a few steep sections, and since you are already at 8,000 ft elevation, it was easy to get out of breath.
The trail offers spectacular views of the east, the west, and it leads to the southernmost section from where you can witness the views of the entire bright angel canyon.

The streambed is not visible, but you can easily see the jagged ridge bordering it, on top of which are three prominent peaks named after Hindu deities – Deva Temple, Brahma Temple, and Zoroaster Temple.

That evening we drove to our campground near Bryce National Park, where we parked and took a walk around the area. To my surprise, the kids made a birthday cake for me while I was taking a stroll.
It was a perfect way to end my birthday, doing what I enjoy the most- hiking with the family!
